Purchasing from the website
To buy an item direct from the website, please telephone your order to 01342 717836 or email orders@antiquechandeliers.co.uk.
All items are offered subject to availability. The website is kept as
up to date as possible but a slight delay between updates may
occasionally happen.
We will reserve
your item and send you an invoice. To confirm purchase, please
ensure cheque or payment reaches us within 5 working days. We currently
accept major credit cards, cheques and bank transfer. We also accept
Paypal for small-cost items. Before ordering, please read our section on
delivery (below). Please
note that due to the high numbers of fraudulent emails and calls we
receive, we are unable to deliver any goods to addresses that do not
match the registered card address.
Purchasing from the showroom Larger
crystal chandeliers are not readily collectible from the showroom and
need dismantling and packing into composite parts before they can be
collected or delivered.
Smaller
items can be paid for by credit or debit card and collected at the time
of purchase. Please not that if you are unknown to us, we will require
proof of identification for items of value before we can accept card
payments. This may be in the form of a driving licence or other cards.
We are unable to accept cheque payments for amounts over the value of a
cheque guarantee card where clients wish to take purchases away on
purchase but we are happy to accept reservations on receipt of either a
cheque or card payment pending receipt of the balance. We kindly ask
that you send the balance to us within 2 weeks of our issuing your
invoice. As most of our items are unique and individual, we require the
full balance of payment at this time
Delivery
We personally
deliver most weeks to Central London, for which there is no extra
charge. We are also happy to deliver locally within Surrey and Sussex.
For other areas, we can also arrange transportation and or
shipping. Alternatively, paid for items can be collected direct from our
showroom by yourselves or your appointed carrier.
We receive many orders from abroad and are happy to quote for shipping worldwide. But large, high quality Chandeliers and other lighting items should be collected and packed by specialist shipping companies. We can advise on suitable specialist carriers for both the UK and for items shipped abroad. Please contact us for details.
Customers
ordering items for shipping abroad must accept we are not responsible
for any loss or damage once the item/s are passed to carriers. Customers
should note that most non-specialist carriers and parcel companies
will not insure antiques and use of these carriers is at the customers'
own risk.
Visiting the Showroom
To
fully appreciate the quality of an item, we suggest you visit us to see
our stock. Many of our stock items are high quality investment
purchases and we want you to be sure of your purchase with us. To visit the showroom, please check before travelling to save a wasted trip. Directions are on our Find Us page.
Electric Wiring
All
items are advertised which may mean unwired and/or unpolished. The
reason is that they then can be finished to customer requirements and/or
rewired when reaching the destination country.
We undertake
wiring for the UK only, which can be carried out at reasonable charge.
Please contact us for prices. For Chandeliers we offer rewiring with
either 'French Electric Candles' or with traditional candle cards.
Condition Reports
For
more information on any item, from the condition report, measurements,
dating and transportation, to hanging, please do not hesitate to contact
us.
Restoration and other Services
We have many options for Restoration and also carry out Bespoke work. See our Bespoke page on this website.
Chandelier Installation
We offer this
service within London and the Home Counties and are experienced in
installing large scale chandeliers. We electrically test fittings
before hanging and again once installed. Please note that the
installation of large crystal and glass Chandeliers is specialist
work usually beyond the the skills set of most electricians.
